📌 Job Overview
in2food, a leading food and beverage manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Engineering Buyer to join its procurement team in Benoni. This role focuses on sourcing engineering-related goods and services to support production efficiency, plant reliability, and cost control within a fast-paced FMCG environment.
🎓 Minimum Requirements & Experience
- National Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, or a related field
- 3–5 years’ experience as a Buyer in an FMCG or manufacturing environment
- Technical background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation fields is advantageous
- Proficiency in ERP/CMMS systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
⚙️ Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase engineering spares, components, and services (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation)
- Obtain and compare supplier quotations to ensure cost-effective procurement
- Manage supplier relationships, including negotiations on pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with company standards
- Maintain optimal stock levels for engineering spare parts
- Support maintenance teams with accurate sourcing of parts and materials
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, ethical standards, and SHEQ requirements
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to meet operational needs
